...and hidden beaches

Beautiful beaches, great weather, impressive historical sights and warm people - all the advantages of a vacation in Greece combine with an almost unchanged insight into the world of Greece proper. This is especially true of the island of Lefkas in the Ionian Sea, a seaside paradise with unspoiled, Caribbean-like beaches that are among the most beautiful in Europe. The island of Skopelos, Greece's greenest island in the Sporades and the island of Poros in the Saronic Gulf - "...my feet never leave this boat", wrote Henri Miller 80 years ago. Island hiking and swimming, watching the sunsets on the terrace, feeling the waves and the wind or simply relaxing to the sound of the sea and the movement of the waves - whatever your heart desires.

HIKING TRAILS TO THE SEA
From the coast of Lakonia and the small town of Momemvasia, situated on a slope above the sea, we reach Leonidio via the mountain village of Kosmas and the monastery of Panagia Elona, situated on the steep coast. An easy hike with a view of the sea leads us the next day to Poulithra, to stop at the Myrtoon.
ROMANCE AND UNDERSTATED LUXURY

FOR NATURE LOVERS - EPIRUS AND LEFKAS

Epirus and Lefkas

Epirus and Lefkas in the Ionian Sea are true natural beauties: authentic, full of character and extraordinary. They are special destinations full of untouched nature and quaint mountain villages away from the masses. A special route for nature lovers!

INSIDER TIP IN NORTHWEST GREECE
In Epirus you can still find the real Greece with its original culture and authentic flavors. With fascinating paths along deep gorges and wild rivers, with ancient churches and monasteries. The special thing about Epirus and Lefkas is the combination of bathing and active vacations. Idyllic mountain villages, wonderful beaches, crystal clear water, unspoilt, Caribbean-like beaches, which are among the most beautiful in Europe - an absolute insider tip!
THE POETRY IN STONE
After arriving at Preveza airport, we will take a minibus to Tzoumerka. After about 1,5 hour at an altitude of about 1000 m, outside of Pramanta, in the middle of a forest of fir and oak trees, lies the five-star "Orizontes Tzoumerkon Resort". From there we start the next three days of exploration of the mountain region, also called "Poetry in Stone". A monastery built in the middle of the rock, a secluded mountain village and beautiful old bridges along ancient stone paths form the basis for very varied days. On the second day we start directly from the hotel for a mountain hike to the highest waterfall of Greece. The 300 m high waterfall of Kefalovryso has water all year round and is a feast for the eyes. On the way back we stop at the mountain hut of Babis and Pola, enjoy the distant view at 1300 m and the freshly made lemonade.
HIKE ON SHEPHERDS PATHS
Circular hike Syrrako - Kalarrytes Visit of an old mill - steep ascent to the village of Syrrako, where you will experience the hustle and bustle of this traditional mountain village in a cozy tavern during lunch break - transports in the village have to be done by donkey or on foot, cars have no space on most of the narrow roads - through the gorge your way leads back to the car via Kalarrytes.
MOUNTAIN AIR AND SEA BREEZES
After four days of mountain air, we set off for Lefkas. On the way we pass by the famous bridge of Arta and make a detour to Koronisia. The small island in the Ambracian Gulf is one of the largest marine biotopes in Europe and famous for daily fresh fish, which we enjoy in the taverna. Passing under the sea tunnel, another half hour and we reach Lefkas and arrive outside Agios Nikitas to the "Beyond Villas". The next days are quite relaxed: the way down to Mylos-Beach or to Egremni for swimming and in the evening to Eleni to Karya or to Takis to Katouna and get to know the authentic cuisine of Lefkas.

INSIDER TIP PILION AND SKOPELOS

Pilion and Skopelos

Pilion and Skopelos appeal especially to active vacationers, nature lovers and those looking for recreation, who are looking for the original Greece. The Pilion peninsula, not far from the coastal town of Volos in the Thessaly region, is lush and green. Dense virgin forest-like vegetation, picturesque mountain villages with traditional architecture, countless hiking trails, bubbling springs and fantastic views of the sea. Endless green forests, of Aleppo pines and pines, olive groves, plums and almond trees and in addition the turquoise blue of the sea and the dazzling white of the beaches and villages - this is the island of Skopelos.

WITH THE PILION RAILROAD TO PICTURE BOOK VILLAGES
Since 1903, the narrow-gauge railroad "Moutzouris" runs between the villages of Ano Lechonia and Milies. It is considered one of the narrowest train lines in the world with a track width of only 600 mm. The scenic train ride leads through wild and romantic gorges and crosses several stone bridges and streams. West of Milies lies the picture-book village of Vizitsa, which is a protected monument for its special architecture. Old tower houses and villas, which have been lavishly renovated, provide a glimpse of times long past.
GREENEST ISLAND OF GREECE
As the largest island of the Sporades, Skopelos boasts an unbeatable coastline of 66 kilometers. In one of Greece's first marine national parks, a breathtaking underwater world awaits divers and snorkelers. But Skopelos is also perfect for those who prefer to go to the beach and relax. Panormos, Milia or Velanio are beautiful beaches that are not as crowded as on other islands. Not only the beaches on Skopelos are real treasures, but also the interior of the island can score with originality. About 120 Byzantine churches and the ruins of the old Venetian castle from the 13th century are interesting excursion destinations and convey the eventful history of the region. You have little to do with mass tourism on Skopelos, because a few years ago a building ban ensured that most of the island remained unaffected by tourism.
WELCOME EVERYWHERE
Hospitality is offered everywhere in Greece, of course, but here, on Skopelos, you feel especially welcome. Restaurants with sea view, like the Agnanti Restaurant in Glossa or the Muses in Skopelos Town are spread all along the coast and promise breathtaking views as well as culinary highlights.
